Design Concept-The Process of memory
 
Healthy concepts in science: In order to break through the margin of possibility in my thought,
I reminded myself first before starting design. Scientific calculation is to understand the existing
phenomenon and further produce basic calculation formula. The purpose is for easy logic
thinking more simply and easily and use the calculation formula to find the reasonable
possibility to shorten the experiment direction and path.
 
Start Thinking……….I decided to use (toe-out-on-turns) to handle the problem of the Top
dead Point (Top initial point) which can make the pedaling force work before the Top
dead center. It is estimated that 25%-30% pedaling force will be saved, at the same time
the saving power can put into the pedaling force. It can make the torque output increase
immediately in opposition. So it can be thought and implement on logic. Let’s start designing!?
 
Start Design…….. extendable, different curved structure , spring-styled, idle running,
and oil-pressured? were taken into consideration, and the curved structure was to be the final
decision. Only the curved structure can be in one-body shape, and will not appear the breaking
point in structure easily. (The designer’s self-requirement must have to overthrow his own design
for more than 5 times.) Then , have to choose the one which fits the requirements of durability,
the best efficiency, effectiveness, simple structure, ease of manufacturing, the popularity
of factory assembly, the ease of new and old bikes can be assembled and changed in consumer
market, and be beautiful.
 
Filtering requirements……………..
The best efficiency: to find the reasonable “toe-out-on-turns” angle, make the force pass through
  the Upper dead center to let the power more efficient. Then I integrate the
  golden spiral into the structure to make the pedaling force can surround the
  axle for 360 degree uniformly, and therefore that can increase the force
  effectively to reduce the dead angle of pedaling force.
Be durable: The stress of golden spiral distributes in average, which can surround the
  axle center for 360 degree uniformly, and therefore the crank and the axle
  are forced uniformly.
Simple structure: the single structure.
The ease of manufacturing process: the single structure.
The ease of factory assembly: It can be implemented on present process line without the change
  of manufacturing process.
The popularity of factory assembly: It fits for all kinds of bicycles.
Simple and easy install of new and old style bicycles in the consumer market: All types of bicycles,
  easier for changing.
Be beautiful: Be Cool, elegant, motional, smooth line, and delicate.
Have to be effective: Waiting for test riding.
 
The design of structure is completed……………..producing the engineer sample.
 
The day of test riding was finally coming……….. It rode much smoother than the straight crank
did in flats. The sense of inactivity at Upper dead center shortened efficiently, and the most
exerting dead point past through at once. I wondered how it would be that riding hard while the
pedal arrives at Upper dead point?I gave it a try as well as I wondered. It was shucked that the
extra force was released from the back wheel. On the instant, I knew I made it.
 
The journey of engineering sample ride testing, domestic top ten bicycle factories are our target.
As a result, 95% of them are shucked. (There are Taiwanese, several American and Japanese
engineer participated.)
 
Therefore, we decided to invest. The name is Power curved crank, it has been 11 years from I
started writing to manufacturing.
 
Review before on the road:
 
Test report
I couldn’t find any factory to make this test of the bicycles torque output in Taiwan.
However, I met the boss of designing test instrument. He recommended SGS has an equipment
can be re-equipped to test our crank which uses mechanical torque measurement---- instead of
electric induction torque measurement. This was exactly what we wanted; mechanical torque
measurement can transit actual torque number instead of the conversion number of electric
induction.
 
Fatigue test seems quite negative, especially the crank with hole on it. This was what the test man
thought.
That’s take the most strict standard to test. The result was completely passed. The BB was
broken once in the process. (It happened usually in the fatigue test.)
The Conclusion ……….The structure of golden spiral has an extremely firm and solid just as
expected.
 
Problems of weight……Our product is 250 gram (about 250cc water) heavier than the ordinary
crank. However, it is necessary as oppose to powerful torque. 30 KG force, 25%~30%, is added
for offering the torque from the top dead point 0 degree to 60 degree. The heavier the force is the
more powerful torque will the rider get. On account of obtaining more torque will support the
experience of light drive which also explains that the test rider can experience light, fast and power.
An idea…. if a 10kg bike, force30Kg, there is 25% to 30% more torque as oppose to the weight
of bike itself which also means bike itself is much lighter.
 
The formula of scientific calculation is closed to the data of actual test and the statistics curve
is the same.
 
Why I use square hole in the Bottom Bracket? Because it is more firm and solid on the structure
Shearing resistance and the crank will be more durable.
 
Conception of increasing torque output….Magnifying torque comes from the released frequency
of working force instead of not Rotation Momentum.
 
There are nearly 400 consumers and buyers from domestic and international countries to test
riding. The result is from doubt to shuck.
 
The result of coming across to world-class player: they were too shucked to describe like
Turbo Crank.
 
Top ten domestic bicycle factories, the result of test riding: Shucked. Several bicycle factories
have been testing formally and plan new type of bicycle.
 
A simple curve, use countless complex logic which have been deduced. It has been 11 years.
I think I am ready to go.
